Coverage for Prosthetic or Orthotic Devices
Due to the policies and guidelines with the
different agencies, each individuals circumstance
and specific needs, it is difficult for us to list
prices. Each patient who comes in to
Colman Prosthetics & Orthotics is assessed
by a Certified Clinician. At that time we can
determine what your cost is and what coverage
is available to you. If you would like more
information or an appointment please contact
our office.
Most of the orthotic and prosthetic products that we manufacture are custom-made. As such they are very labour intensive and subsequently very expensive.
Frequently private insurance, government agencies or private organizations will fund some or all of these appliances.
The procedures to obtain funding and the routes to follow can be quite complicated, sometimes involving two or three different agencies all funding one appliance.
The best way to find out who may fund your appliance is to contact us at (403) 270-2941.
Below are links to agencies that assist with funding:
Champs/War Amps of Canada
Alberta Aids to Daily Living
Worker's Compensation Board
Alberta Blue Cross
Department of Veteran Affairs
On the following page is a very condensed version of what some of these agencies may pay for. Coleman Prosthetics and Orthotics accepts no responsibilty with regards to its accuracy or its applicability to your own situation. It is provided for general knowledge only.
