CBCPO professionals must undergo rigorous training to become accredited practitioners. Accredited Schools in Canada provide the specialized clinical training. This intensive 2 year clinical training is followed by a 96 week supervised internship. After the internship, pracititioners write the CBCPO national exam.Only when these steps are successfully completed are practitioners designated as certified Prosthetists C.P.(c), certified Orthotists, C.O.(c), or certtified Prosthetist and Orthotist, C.P.O.(c).
